Our History
In the Beginning…
T
he Church first opened her doors to the Staten Island community in September 1992, as The Marketplace, Teaching, Healing and Training Center with founding Pastor Rev. Ellen Comis. Together with her son Gary and his wife Doreen, Pastor Ellen ministered to the Body of Christ for over 10 years prior to the Church opening conducting healing crusades and teaching seminars throughout the New York, New Jersey areas.
Through this powerful evangelistic ministry, many miracles and healings have taken place reaching thousands of people with the message of faith, hope and healing in Jesus Christ. Rev. A New Generation…
A
t the start of this new millennium, Rev. Gary Comis was installed as Lead Pastor and began to implement vision that would bring the Church to a new level of growth and influence. Today with a new Church name, Faith Community Church endeavors to reach people with the message of the Cross, help them grow and become more like Jesus, and encourage opportunities for them to love God and serve their surrounding communities.
