Lifestyle Stewardship

When most people think about giving, they assume it is simply a matter of giving money to God through the Church. While the giving of tithes and offerings are an important aspect of lifestyle stewardship, it is not the only aspect.
Lifestyle Stewardship encompasses everything that God has given to us in life including our time, talent, and treasure. When we honor the Lord with our tithes and offerings, when we serve and help those in need, when we sacrifice our time through love, we are sowing seeds that will grow into an abundant harvest; Not just of financial blessings, but a harvest in all dimensions of life.

Tithing

When you give your tithes to Faith Community Church, you not only become a part of something bigger than yourself, but you help to build God’s Kingdom in the earth.

According to the scriptures, your tithe is the first 10% of your income and your tithe belongs to God. “Every tithe of the land, whether of the seed of the land or of the fruit of the trees, is the Lord's; it is holy to the Lord." Leviticus 27:30, ESV

Tithing is a reminder that God is the most-high God, the supplier of everything we have. As we accept God’s personal invitation to tithe, He promises in Malachi 3:10 “…to open the windows of heaven for you and pour down for you a blessing until there is no more need.”

Generosity

Offerings are anything you give in addition to your tithe and are a reminder of God’s grace of giving as He influences the world for good through His people. The Apostle Paul encourages us in 2 Corinthians 8 & 9 to be generous and abound and excel in this gracious work of giving also.

As we faithfully manage our lifestyle stewardship through the giving of our time, talent, and treasure, our family, community and the world is changed for the glory of God.
